Privacy Policy

This policy explains how PrintHive handles information when you use our websites, cloud subscriptions, applications, APIs, MCP server, agent plugins, Hive Link, Hive Drive, and related services.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories:

• Account and organization information: name, email address, authentication records, organization membership, role, and account preferences.
• Billing information: plan, subscription, and transaction records. Payment processors handle complete payment-card details on our behalf.
• Fleet and production information: printer identifiers, connection state, telemetry, job history, model and file metadata, Makes, materials, inventory, maintenance records, and operator annotations.
• Printer images and recordings: camera frames, snapshots, timelapses, and other images or recordings received when you use camera, monitoring, or analysis features. Images may include printed objects, your workspace, or people in view.
• User content: files, names, tags, notes, prompts, and other content you choose to submit to the service.
• Integration and agent activity: OAuth grants, tool calls, requested scopes, approvals, audit events, and responses needed to operate and secure connected agents.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser or client type, diagnostic logs, performance data, and interactions with our sites and applications.

How we use information

We use information to:

• provide, maintain, and improve PrintHive;
• connect, monitor, and operate authorized printer fleets;
• authenticate users and enforce organization and tool permissions;
• process subscriptions and communicate about the service;
• detect abuse, investigate incidents, and protect users;
• meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
• analyze product performance and develop features using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
• develop, train, test, and improve PrintHive models using data and images, subject to the choices and limits below.

Data and images used for model training

Unless you opt out, PrintHive may use printer telemetry, job outcomes, error reports, feedback, uploaded content, and camera images or recordings received through enabled features to develop, train, test, and improve our machine-learning and AI models. These models support features such as failure detection, print analysis, and automation. Training is separate from using an existing model to analyze a print as part of the service.

We limit training data to what is relevant to these purposes and remove or reduce identifying information where practical. Images and uploaded content are not necessarily anonymous. Account passwords, printer access credentials, and payment-card details are not training inputs. Do not submit content you lack permission to share, and position cameras to avoid capturing people, confidential information, or unrelated areas.

Providers that help us prepare data, train, or evaluate PrintHive models may process this information on our behalf under confidentiality and data-use restrictions. This permission does not authorize those providers to train their own general-purpose models with your content or make your files and images public. Services you connect yourself have separate practices, as described below.

How to opt out of model training

Email ops@printhive.io with the subject "Model training opt-out", your account email, and the organization names or IDs to exclude. Do not send passwords or printer access codes. We may verify your identity and authority to act for an organization, then confirm when the opt-out is applied.

Once applied, the opt-out covers future training use of that account's or organization's data and images, including previously collected material not yet used for training. You can continue using the service. We still process information needed to operate, secure, and support it, including analysis by existing models for features you use. Opting out of training is not a request to delete your account or print history.

An opt-out does not automatically undo completed training or require retraining existing models. You may separately request access, correction, deletion, or object to processing where applicable law provides those rights. This limitation does not override those rights or a legal requirement to remove information from a model.

We process personal information only where permitted by applicable law. Depending on the purpose and jurisdiction, this may involve performing our agreement, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests balanced against your rights, or consent. Where consent is required for training, we obtain it before that use. An opt-out default does not replace legally required consent.

Agent plugins and connected services

When you connect ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, or another compatible client, that provider processes the prompts and tool results you send through its product under its own terms and privacy policy. PrintHive limits each MCP call to the authenticated organization and granted OAuth scopes. You can revoke a connection from PrintHive or the connected client.

Do not place printer access codes, network passwords, recovery credentials, or payment information in an agent conversation. Enter printer credentials only through the designated PrintHive setup flow.

How we share information

We may share information:

• with infrastructure, storage, analytics, communications, payment, and support providers that process information for us, including model service providers subject to the training limits above;
• with services you intentionally connect or direct us to interact with;
• with members of your PrintHive organization according to their roles;
• when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, users, or the service; and
• as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect PrintHive and its users. Retention depends on the data type, account status, subscription, and security requirements.

Training datasets are subject to the training opt-out above. Requesting deletion of source files is separate from removing information from an already trained model. We assess deletion requests under applicable law, including any obligations concerning retained datasets or models.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, so users should protect their credentials, use least-privilege scopes, and promptly report suspected compromise.

Your choices

You may update account information, manage organization access, revoke integrations, and request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements. Browser settings may also control cookies and similar technologies.

Children

PrintHive is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. For material changes, including new training uses, we will provide notice through the service or your account email before the changes take effect, and obtain consent where required by law. A policy update alone does not retroactively authorize new uses of previously collected personal information where additional notice or consent is required.
