HiveLoop: Configuration

Configuration Options

  • Loops: Number of times to re-run the same plate (min 2).
  • Cooldown (seconds): Optional pause between loops to let parts cool and debris settle.
  • Calibrate only on first loop: Runs bed leveling/mech checks once, then skips on subsequent loops.
  • Sweep Mode: Selects how the nozzle engages parts after each print. All modes share the same path (columns in X; Y forward/back; X step at back), but vary height and feed behavior:
    • Base: Single pass at fixed Z height (default 0.6 mm).
    • Top Tap: Gentle pass near the top of the model, then a base pass.
    • Slow Tap Ramp: Ramped feed during the tap pass for gradual engagement, then a base pass.
    • Dynamic: Adaptive tap + base sequence (future per-part enhancements).
  • Sweep Z (mm) (Base mode): Exact Z height for the base pass.
  • Tap Offset (mm) (Tap/Ramp/Dynamic): Distance below the detected top to perform the tap.
  • Ramp Start F (Ramp/Dynamic): Starting feed rate for the ramped tap pass.
  • Ramp End F (Ramp/Dynamic): Ending feed rate for the ramped tap pass.
  • Ramp Segments (Ramp/Dynamic): Number of segments to approximate the ramp.

Behavior

  • All profiles use the same path: columns in X, Y forward/back, X step at back.
  • Profiles modify Z heights and feed behavior.
  • Header block is updated to reflect increased time and filament usage.

Interactive Configuration

To configure HiveLoop interactively, open any model in the Print Hive app and click "Create Hive Loop" from the model details page.
