HiveLoop: Tuning Your Loop

Use these tips to improve ejection reliability and minimize wear.

Sweep Profiles

  • Base: Single pass at fixed Z (default 0.6mm). Use when parts release easily.
  • Top Tap: Gentle pass near the top of the model, then base pass.
  • Slow Tap Ramp: Ramped feed during the tap pass for gradual engagement.
  • Dynamic: Adaptive version of tap + base (future per-part enhancements).

Parameters

  • Tap Offset: Distance below the plate top for the tap (e.g., 0.3mm).
  • Ramp Start/End F: Feed rates for the ramped pass.
  • Ramp Segments: Segments used to approximate the ramp.
  • Cooldown: Pause between loops for part cooling and debris clearing.

Crash Detection

If collision detection triggers, try increasing sweep Z slightly or reducing sweep feed.
